Exactly a year ago, I visited Kenya for the launch of Hidesign. On visiting the Maasai tribe in the Mara, Mr. Dilip Kapur of Hidesign was inspired to create a stunning collection. I was given charge of the project and got in touch with Joy Kendi , one of Africa’s best fashion bloggers.
We wanted the campaign to be strong and powerful like the Maasai, yet modern and international. Joy Kendi, a proud Kenyan with a cosmopolitan look, was the ideal face for the campaign. After a few calls and emails, we were very excited to have Joy in Pondicherry.
I project managed the campaign, working on the production timelines, paper bags, cardboard tags, training content, etc. With help from Dipen Desai of Hidesign, we planned out a press meet at Palladium Mall, Mumbai and the entire communication strategy online and offline.
The collection was a major success in stores, we ran out of stocks within the first two weeks, the almost every important fashion media in the country covered it and we had bloggers approaching us by the dozen to style it.
Amazon chose Hidesign as their brand of choice to exhibit at the Amazon India Fashion Week 2017 in New Delhi. In very short notice, we took over the VIP lounge at the Fashion Week.
